OSCE Training on Security Sector Governance and Reform
Enrollment in this course is by invitation only
About This Course
As the world’s largest regional security organization, the OSCE has a long track record of supporting its participating States in strengthening security sector governance and in undertaking reforms in line with OSCE principles and commitments. By providing more coherent and co-ordinated assistance on security sector governance and reform (SSG/R) to its participating States, the OSCE can better enable them to implement their OSCE commitments. SSG/R thus forms an integral part of the OSCE’s comprehensive approach to security as it increases synergies across the Organization’s three dimensions. The SSG/R framework also encourages a move away from ad hoc activities towards more strategic, holistic and long-term programming that supports sustainable security sector governance.
This training is based on the Guidelines on SSG/R for OSCE Staff (Second Edition). It targets a wide range of OSCE staff from various Executive Structures working across all three OSCE Dimensions, both at programmatic and strategic management level. The e-learning component of the training is a preparatory part that complements an in-class component consisting of interactive workshop sessions.
